About
My research focus is the interplay of logical and metaphysical issues, especially the metaphysics of modality, the foundations of modal logic, counterpart theory, conditionals, vagueness, metaontology, fictionalism, formal ontology and assorted Lewisiana.
I am currently working on an extensive project on ontological deflationism—the view that disputes about what there is can be merely semantic in nature. My essay "Vague Existence" was runner-up in the 2012 Younger Scholars Prize competition administered by the editorial board of Oxford Studies in Metaphysics and the Ammonius Foundation.
I am also interested in the possibility of providing a structuralist reconstruction of mathematics and the natural sciences.
Finally, I am (somewhat secretly) enamored of Husserlian phenomenology and its interaction with the analytic tradition.
