About

I like to relate logic and philosophy, the former as rigorous symbolic thinking, the latter as reflexive disposition towards reality.
Actually I work on the edition of José Gaos "Escritos Españoles" (Spanish Writtings), as part of the long project of his complete works. This volume has a strong relation to phenomenology, inasmuch as Gaos discovered Husserls phemonenology through his friend and intellectual guide, Xavier Zubiri, and decided to compose a ph.d. thesis -by suggestion of Zubiri and Manuel García Morente, another colleague, but also a kind of protector- on Husserls critic of psicologism. In this volume too takes place the conversion to Wilhem Diltheys "Philosophy of philosophy", which was triggered by the ratio-vitalist and historicist influence of his teacher and friend, José Ortega y Gasset.
Apart from that edition labor, the study of phenomenology takes a grand part of my time, been enriched, but, more relevant, corrected by my co-students of the "Seminario de Estudios Básicos de Fenomenología Husserliana" (Seminary of Basic Studies on Trascendental Phenomenology).

More information on Gaos can be found on this page: http://www.filosoficas.unam.mx/~gaos/

The Seminary is part of a major project:

A very helpful tool for the study of Husserls phenomenology is this deutsch-spanish dictionary of concepts:

I also have my own Blog, in which I discuss conceptions on philosophy. In our country this topic is very important, because the government has decided to get rid of philosophy on pre-university education. For the political class, and our society, philosophy has no sense.
